McCall council adopts resolution endorsing America250 commemoration, approves $2,500 grant application for Lakeside Liberty Fest

Delta James, the city’s economic development planner, asked the council to adopt a resolution endorsing the America250 in Idaho commemoration and to authorize submission of a $2,500 grant application to support Lakeside Liberty Fest in 2026.

Councilmember (mover not specified) moved to adopt Resolution 25-22 endorsing the commemoration; the motion was seconded and passed on roll call. The council then moved to approve submittal of the America250 in Idaho grant application and authorized the mayor to sign all necessary documents; that motion also passed on roll call.

Delta said partner organizations, including the American Legion and the McCall Area Chamber of Commerce, provided letters of support and that possible uses of the grant include a community choir sing-along, an American Legion presentation, an enhanced fireworks display or a family-friendly patriotic film the night before July 4, 2026.

The council’s vote to adopt Resolution 25-22 and to submit the $2,500 grant application was unanimous on the record. The resolution endorsement is a required eligibility step for the Idaho America250 grants; the council did not appropriate matching funds as part of this vote.

Both actions were recorded in the meeting minutes as roll-call votes in which all present councilmembers voted yes.
