Ada County retables uniform award after protest; opens two bids for courthouse and victim-services stairs

Procurement staff told the board a protest prompted tabling of Bid 25069 (sheriff uniforms) to Aug. 26. The county opened bids for Bid 25070 (courthouse and victim services stairs), receiving two bids, and the board tabled award pending review. Ada County procurement staff reported a protest on Bid No. 25069 (rebid for Sheriff uniforms) and asked the Board of Commissioners to retable the award recommendation. The board voted to table the award to the Aug. 26, 2025 open business meeting to allow staff and the vendor(s) to resolve the protest.
Procurement staff also requested more time to complete evaluations for RFP 25068; the board granted the request and tabled final ranking and award to Aug. 26.
In a public bid opening the county opened Bid No. 25070 (Ada County victim services stairs and courthouse front-entry stair replacement 2025) and reported two responsive bids: Engineered Structures Inc., $335,651; and Optimum Build Group, $786,145. Staff explained the total bid amounts include a $10,000 owner's contingency and identified one additive alternate (pavers instead of concrete) that the county may elect to add. After the opening staff asked for time to review the bids and the board tabled award to the Aug. 26 meeting.
The procurement office indicated it will return to the board on Aug. 26 with award recommendations after addressing the protest (Bid 25069) and completing the requested reviews for RFP 25068 and Bid 25070.
