The Ada County Board of Commissioners approved the county clerk’s annual requests to allow four water and sewer districts to add delinquent account certifications to property tax bills and approved a budget certification extension request from the Boise School District.
Clerk Sarah Lund told commissioners the state permits water and sewer districts to request that delinquent utility charges be added to property tax bills as “certifications.” Her office will add those certified amounts to tax bills issued in November after districts submit lists of the delinquent accounts. Lund said the requests are an annual occurrence and that larger school districts often request a seven-working-day extension to file budget certifications because their funding amounts, linked to sales tax revenue, are sometimes not final until August.
The board approved a motion authorizing the 2025 statement of authority and applications for delinquent assessment of fees for the four water and sewer districts and directed the chair to sign the documents. The board also approved the clerk’s request to grant Boise School District a seven-working-day extension to submit its budget certification and authorized the chair to sign the related documents.
