The Lago Vista City Council unanimously awarded a $1,317,305.60 contract to Lone Star Paving for RFP 25‑07 to repave 23 city streets as part of the city’s multi-phase street rehabilitation program.
Staff said Lone Star was the lowest responsible bidder and that the project is funded through the city’s CIP street-rehab allocation. Staff also said the city has an outstanding CapMetro Build Central Texas allocation of about $357,000 that will be used to offset the cost; CapMetro will make an initial payment during construction and a final payment on completion.
Councilmembers and staff discussed the larger phase plan (originally a three-phase program) and how earlier phases and schedule changes had moved some streets into earlier or later phases. The council noted that a future phase should prioritize base-reconstruction needs where substantial subbase work is required.
Ending: The contract award keeps the city on schedule for the ongoing pavement-rehab program; staff will return with prioritization proposals for remaining streets and any needed base-reconstruction funds.
