District staff recommend full chiller replacement at Gilbert Elementary; Texas Chiller Systems named top bidder at $490,820

The district issued a request for proposals on May 16 for turnkey replacement (sale, delivery and installation of a screw chiller of specified tonnage). Staff opened bids on June 18 and evaluated eight responses. Texas Chiller Systems received the highest evaluation score (95) and submitted a price of $490,820.
Trustees asked why the replacement was necessary now and requested the broader facilities assessment and vendor‑service history. Vice President Lodesma Woody noted multiple recent high‑dollar facilities requests and asked staff to present the wider facilities assessment and a plan for prioritizing repairs; administration said that assessment is forthcoming and that safety and instructional-impact filters will guide priorities.
