Jennifer Jones, director of Community and Development Services, presented a preview of a new website and resident survey for Elbert County’s comprehensive plan.
Jones said the site (expected to launch immediately after the July 23 meeting) will include a survey of 25 questions, a sign‑up option to receive updates, frequently asked questions and downloadable flyers with a QR code for the survey. Paper copies and several distribution channels are planned: county website, newspapers (including the Prairie Times), flyers at county buildings and libraries, social media, community events such as the county fair and later open‑house meetings in the fall.
She thanked the project consultants and county staff and said a steering committee has been formed and contacted; the committee’s first meeting is scheduled for the week following the July 23 meeting. Jones said the consultant will assist with survey quality control (IP tracking, duplicate detection, response‑location checks) and with analysis to ensure a representative cross‑section of county residents.
Ending: Jones asked commissioners to help publicize the survey and noted the draft site URL (elbertcountycomprehensiveplan.com) and QR flyers that will be distributed across the county.
