Staff updates comprehensive plan implementation guides; Council approved Davies property and deferred Courthouse Plaza

Planning Commission members reviewed July 28 a staff update to the implementation guides that track actions from Fairfax City’s comprehensive plan and four small‑area plans, and heard a brief staff report on recent City Council decisions affecting ongoing land‑use cases.
City planning staff said 129 of 339 implementation actions were updated since the last review in January; 32 of 70 land‑use actions were updated. Ms. Denny, who presented the guide updates, noted changes across transportation, environmental sustainability and community services items and identified several projects now underway, including utility relocation for Blenheim Boulevard multimodal improvements, a University Drive bike lanes project, and a government center parkway connection scheduled for completion next year.
