DEL VALLE ISD superintendent marks one year, highlights $2.5M after-school grant and campus visits

Reynolds; local homecoming events ("Congratulations to our homecoming queen, Megan Arispe and King Javier Ramos," he said); and the district's first support‑staff advisory council meeting of the year, where the superintendent said the group shared celebrations and challenges.
Dr. Gutierrez also highlighted a $2,500,000 grant celebrated at the Travis County Administration Building in August. He named Judge Andy Brown and "Commissioner Jeff Trevillion" and district community partners as contributors to that investment and said the grant "will expand free, high quality after school programs for pre k 4 students." He thanked partners and encouraged families to attend upcoming parent orientation nights to connect with schools and staff.
Dr. Gutierrez said he had participated in the Education Innovation Exchange in Houston, hosted by Talas, and described the event as an opportunity to influence how new tools and services are developed for underrepresented students. He described the district's focus on "leadership priorities" and the "innovative directions" the district is pursuing.
