District highlights Hope Squad, social-work backpack event and new early-college and cybersecurity programs

Dr. Dixon Sehorn and special-programs staff said the annual social-work back-to-school event served about 232 families in a drive-through format (about 300 families had signed up), and additional backpacks remain available for families in need. The district plans two conscious-discipline family nights on Sept. 16 and Nov. 4 and has provided conscious-discipline professional learning for Kids Zone, safety and transportation staff.
The innovation report noted career programming: early-college classes and a CNA program at William Jewell are starting this school year, and a new cybersecurity (CIPHER) program enrolled eight students as planned.
