Operations: new distribution center online; Heritage 1923 renovation and construction updates ahead of school start

Operations director Mr. Anderson told the board the district's new distribution center is largely complete and has transformed nutrition-services storage and purchasing. He said the Heritage 1923 building is receiving full renovation work — roofing, HVAC, tuckpointing, front-column repairs and interior gutting — and that crews are working to preserve the building's character while making it safe and code-compliant. The administration has coordinated temporary reassignments and traffic/drop-off adjustments to keep operations secure during construction.
Anderson also reported on KidZone staffing and wait lists: only two or three students remained on the Lewis and Clark wait list at the time of the meeting, and operations expected full coverage with new staff starting soon.
Ending: Operations recommended continued coordination with city partners (City of Liberty and Kansas City) for permitting and scheduling; the administration invited trustees to tour the distribution center and construction sites.
