Lennox council approves full license for Lennox Mobile Home Park

The Lennox City Council voted to approve a full mobile home park license for Lennox Mobile Home Park, owned by Standing Stones Inc., following staff reports that the property has made “significant progress” on required repairs.

City staff official Mary Galtz told council members that the council had approved a temporary extension in June and that she and a colleague had since met with the park owners and “continue to monitor the work and communicate with them.” Galtz said substantial repairs have been completed but “additional work remains,” and recommended the council issue a full license at this time.

Galtz identified skirting replacement on a trailer on the west side of the park as one of the primary improvements and said the owners acknowledged general upkeep had been lacking in recent months. She said staff still want to follow up about roof conditions, but that the owners reported the roofs were not leaking. Council members asked which specific units still needed work; Galtz noted siding patching on a unit referenced as number 18 and said the resident of that unit was expected to move this week so the owners could complete repairs.

Council members emphasized that issuing a license does not indicate perfection but rather substantial compliance and progress toward meeting code. After a motion to approve the license and a second, the council voted by voice and the motion carried.
