The mayor and newly sworn aldermen completed the oath of office at the start of the meeting and the Board of Aldermen approved a slate of administrative and judicial appointments and the personnel docket.
The board swore in multiple city officers and employees, including police and fire leadership, court officials, the city clerk and department deputies. The mayor then asked the council to select a mayor pro tem; Alderman George Payne was nominated and approved with a motion and second.
City attorney Nick Manley read a list of appointments on the agenda for confirmation. Confirmed roles named in the meeting included police chief Seth Curran, fire chief Danny Scallions, city prosecutors Bill Seal and Kenny Stockton, municipal judges David Delgado and Jody Naiman, city clerk Andrea Mullen, public defenders Ben Murphy and Keith Treadway, and other deputies and clerks. Melanie Drisdale was reappointed as the city ADA coordinator, as presented.
The board also approved the monthly personnel docket by motion and roll call. The mayor announced that non-court appointments would be sworn jointly following their confirmation.
The meeting record shows the motions were moved and seconded and that roll-call votes carried on these items; minutes reflect formal approval but do not list every individual roll-call entry in full in the agenda text.
