Fayetteville board approves parade and event permits, accepts safety grant, changes employee insurance payment policy and keeps urban growth boundary

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Fayetteville on Sept. 9 approved a set of routine event permits and three formal resolutions that affect public safety equipment, employee health-plan contributions and the city’s urban growth boundary.

In votes recorded at the meeting, the board approved a permit for the Lincoln County High School homecoming parade, an event permit for the Parks & Recreation “Monster Mash Bash,” accepted a public safety matching grant to buy ballistic vests, adopted a change to employee insurance payments for the city’s extended network plan and voted to keep the municipal urban growth boundary unchanged for transmission to Lincoln County.

Those items were presented together as part of new business. The board voted unanimously on each item with the aldermen present recorded as voting “aye.”
