Elmsford to host two Con Edison-backed EV charging sites under county program; village expects net-zero capital cost

The presenter said the project was initiated about two years ago in partnership with the county and Con Edison, which will pay directly to the design consultant (INF Associates) for the two sites. The village selected two chargers across from Westchester Tool Rental and two on Elm Place after an infrastructure feasibility review. “About 2 years ago, we looked at where could we use them… And the infrastructure is right there and that made it easy,” the presenter said.
Staff said the county’s program required design revisions after national equipment standards changed, which delayed implementation while the county restructured bonding and municipal agreements.
