Twinsburg board member Rebecca Davis announces she will not seek re-election, will leave board in December

Rebecca Davis, a member of the Twinsburg Board of Education, announced at the board’s Aug. 6 meeting that she will not seek re-election and that her current term will end this December.
Davis said she decided last year that the current term would be her final one and that she had initially kept her petition in place in hopes another candidate with children in the district would emerge. With such candidates now running, she said, she believes it is the right time to step aside.
“Three of my own children have attended Twinsburg Schools,” Davis said, discussing her reasons for stepping down after 12 years of service and praising district teachers and staff. She said she remains committed to serving through the end of her term and will continue to support the district in other ways after December.
Davis urged residents to treat all candidates with respect during the election season and said her decision was driven by a wish to pass the role to someone currently engaged in the district.
