The Texas Maritime Museum told Aransas County commissioners on Tuesday that visitation and online engagement are up compared with 2024, and that the museum's second‑quarter programs performed well.
Museum representative (named Ashley in the record) reported annual attendance of 5,136 for the quarter and said year‑to‑date visitation totals were roughly 9,25 more than in 2024 (transcript phrasing). The museum said it logged about 1,300,000 social media impressions for the quarter and more than 73,000 interactions with posts, with Facebook accounting for the largest follower share. The museum reported an increase in visitors from Houston and said many visitors traveled more than 75 miles to attend.
The museum also summarized public programming: summer camps and a cooking class series reached children and families, and the museum estimated about 1,375 attendees at a recent line‑up event with 48 vendors and 91 volunteers. The museum acknowledged a recording glitch at one event that affected gate counts and said it is working to correct data‑collection methods for future events.
The court moved and approved acceptance of the museum's quarterly report; the vote on the item was recorded as approved.
