San Juan EDC unveils mini-grant and small-business application materials, plans legal review

Board members requested legal review of the forms before publication. The packet will be revised based on board feedback and returned as an action item at the next board meeting, staff said. The board discussed whether the mini-grant cap should be $2,000; the draft packet notes a cap for the mini grant, but the final small-business grant cap and structure will be decided with board direction.
"We did develop those as well as other, forms. They're all in order," a staff member said while presenting the packet. The board asked staff to circulate edits to Mr. Garcia and to bring an updated packet for approval at the next meeting.
No grant awards were made at the meeting; the board directed staff to obtain legal review and return the documents for formal action.
