The Stevensville Town Council approved a special-event permit for an adult-only Brew & Booze event proposed by the Stevensville Civic Club. John Moe, president of the Stevensville Civic Club, told the council the event is no longer associated with the town’s Scarecrow Festival and will be a separate, over-21 event at Lewis and Clark Park.
Moe said organizers will follow the same alcohol-safety procedures used at other town events, coordinating with the police chief and using wristbands and ID checks; event staff and volunteers are SafeServe-certified. He estimated the event might draw “maybe a couple [hundred] people” and described planned features including tents, heaters, a DJ, karaoke and a costume contest.
A council motion to approve the special-event permit was made and seconded during the meeting. Council Member Barker and Council Member Brown recorded “aye” votes on the motion; the clerk indicated the motion carried.
Ending: Organizers and town staff will finalize coordination on public-safety measures and logistics in advance of the event date.
