The Scottsbluff City Council authorized a nonexclusive license and management agreement allowing an organizer to operate an adult flag football league at Lacy fields for a three-month period.
Staff told the council the organizer, Jeremiah Stobel, helped previously and that licensing out management this year allows the city to generate revenue without absorbing maintenance and management tasks. “Given timing and the amount of projects and stuff we have going on, we'd like to license this 1 out this year and then try to bring that back in house next year,” a staff member said.
Council recorded a motion to approve, which passed by roll call. Staff said the league will use outfield space on several fields at Lacy and noted the event had been run in other nearby communities previously.
