County officials said they received a request from Insight’s legal counsel seeking a meeting to review proposed financial plans and licensing related to reopening two local hospitals.
County staff said Insight representatives and counsel want to present financial statements, discuss licensing and operations, and meet county leadership and municipal officials. The county scheduled a meeting for July 22 and planned to invite relevant local and state officials, including municipal leadership and congressional or state representatives who have had prior contact with Insight.
County officials said Insight intends to operate under its own license to bill Medicare and Medicaid and that, if licensing is granted, the operator could reopen the facilities quickly. Commissioners asked staff to include relevant stakeholders in the meeting and to circulate a proposed attendee list.
No final county approval was required at this scheduling stage; commissioners agreed to hold the July meeting and to evaluate Insight’s financial and operational plans at that time.
