After reconvening from an executive session on July 21, the Wagoner County Board of Commissioners approved an interim appointment for the county’s emergency management director.
The board voted to name Tyler Puckett interim emergency management director effective after Friday and to bring him in to the office on Monday. The motion specified there would be no pay increase associated with the interim appointment. The vote was recorded in roll call as unanimous.
The action followed an executive-session discussion held under 25 Oklahoma Statutes §307(B)(1) concerning employment, hiring, promotion, discipline and resignation matters related to county personnel. Commissioners directed implementation of the interim appointment; the board did not authorize a salary change at the meeting.
Staff will handle onboarding and any immediate operational matters for the emergency management office while the position is interim.
