Board approves consent agenda; personnel items approved with one abstention

The Eastchester Union Free School District Board of Education on Sept. 9 approved its consent agenda, removing the personnel section for a separate vote. The board then approved the personnel agenda in a separate roll-call vote with one abstention.

At the meeting, Christine (board trustee) moved to approve the consent agenda excluding personnel and Jackie seconded the motion; the board voted to approve the motion. Later, Lori moved to approve the personnel agenda, Sean seconded, and the personnel items were approved with one abstention, as recorded.

The actions took place during the portion of the meeting that covered routine approvals including minutes, committee on preschool special education recommendations, curriculum items and business office recommendations; the personnel items were handled under a separate roll-call per the board's procedure.

Board members did not read aloud a full roll-call tally for the first motion; the personnel motion was recorded as approved with one abstention.
