District facilities work underway: MK flooring and gym floor complete; roof, HVAC and fire-panel projects to start

Facilities staff reported to the board that flooring and gym-floor replacement work at the MK is complete and that several maintenance and upgrade projects are scheduled for summer.
"The flooring is all put in," a facilities staff member said about the MK project, adding only trim remains to be delivered. Center-site carpet has been placed, and one small VCT area still requires stripping prior to carpet installation; the contractor expects completion by July 12. Staff said roof work above the gymnasium is scheduled to begin next week and will replace the top sheeting, membrane and rock surfacing.
The speaker described the MK gym floor as "just as beautiful as this gym floor" and said the gym now feels like a different space. Replacement of bleachers remains a larger long-term facilities maintenance (LTFM) item planned for the coming year.
Other planned projects noted included painting of the front of the center and the robotics lab, repair of a concrete heave pending funding, installation of a new fire panel at Lonsdale, and replacement of controllers and wiring for Rooftop Unit 10 to extend its life by an estimated 5–10 years. Facilities staff also said new bathroom-cleaning pressure washers (Compass 2 systems) have been purchased and will replace older machines.
The Raptor visitor-screening system has been installed and is operational; staff said they are awaiting secretaries to complete the first usage tests. Facilities staff reported hiring two cleaning-service employees from Le Sueur County (Jose and Liz) to expand custodial coverage over the summer.
The board was given a status update and timeline for the projects, and staff indicated many items are budgeted through the district’s LTFM plan and annual maintenance work.
