"We had a national champion in weightlifting," Johnson told the board, identifying seventh-grader Max Rotter as the national champion in his age/grade/weight category at a tournament in Colorado Springs. Johnson also said the district’s fishing team won the first event of the year and named Griffin Pumper and Carson Plicic as champions of that tournament.
