Mount Pleasant Area SD honors art teacher after 32 years in district

The Mount Pleasant Area School District recognized art teacher Mrs. Paida at the June 25 board meeting as she retires after 32 years of service to the district.
Board members described Paida's career as an "honor" and invited her to speak. Paida told trustees, "I have been here for 32 years, spent my whole career here at Mount Pleasant ... It has been an honor. It really has been an honor to serve the community, the students, the the school." She thanked colleagues and students and said the children "are the ones who have made me build my game up higher every year."
The board offered thanks and best wishes for retirement and noted a retirement luncheon had been held. No formal board action was required for the recognition; remarks occurred during the reports portion of the agenda.
