City Council Biz Committee upholds one ZBA decision, overturns another on recent appeals

Planner Jeffrey Verkota said the Biz Committee denied the appeal for 4428 Edmond Boulevard, upholding the board's decision related to buried shoring pilings and the zoning administrator's determination. For 4640 17th Avenue South, which involved a variance to the front-yard setback for installing turf for a school play area, Verkota said the Biz Committee granted the appeal; members noted past cases about turf had focused on impervious-surface impacts and said that consideration shaped their decision in this instance.
No board action was required; staff provided the update to members and invited questions. The board had no further updates.
