The Inver Grove Heights City Council approved several routine licensing and consent items during its meeting, including a temporary two-day liquor license and an exempt charitable-gambling permit for the Church of St. Patrick, a change in corporate officer for the AMC Theater, five rental housing licenses and the remainder of the consent agenda items not pulled for separate discussion.
Clerk Kiernan told the council the Church of St. Patrick applied for a temporary two-day liquor license for its September 2025 fall festival and had published notice in the Pioneer Press; staff recommended approval following the required public hearing. The council closed the public hearing with no public testimony and approved the license and the exempt gambling permit by roll call (Murphy — aye; Takach — aye; Dietrich — aye; Gliva — aye; Scales — aye).
The council also approved a change in corporate officer for the AMC Theater premise at 5567 Bishop Boulevard; staff reported the applicant had submitted required materials and that the Police Department’s background check found no basis for denial. The motion to approve the corporate officer change passed on roll call.
Community Development Director Zeamer presented five rental-housing-license applications — four new and one renewal — and said all applicants had paid required fees and cleared background checks. The council approved the rental licenses on the staff recommendation.
Earlier in the meeting the council passed the consent agenda items A through R with D and H omitted for separate discussion; the remainder were approved by roll call. The council then approved the two items that had been the subject of public hearings together (the Church license and exempt gambler permit) in a single motion.
All items summarized here were approved by roll call with no recorded votes against them in the meeting record.
