The El Mirage Common Council on June 17 continued, without closing, a public hearing on an application for a restaurant liquor license (application 340094) for a business doing business as Restaurante El Oaxacano Del Sol at 12313 Northwest Grand Avenue. The council set the continued hearing date to July 1.
Police staff told the council they had not completed the department’s investigation because several questions on the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control application were left unanswered in the materials provided. The applicant addressed the council and said she believed she had completed and resubmitted the application two weeks earlier after city staff provided clarification and assistance.
To avoid restarting notice requirements, the council, by motion, continued the public hearing to July 1 so staff can work with the applicant to ensure the form and supporting documents are complete and the police investigation can be finalized. Council member Dorsey made the motion to continue and Council member Winston seconded; the council voted in favor and the hearing will remain open.
Ending: The public hearing remains open; staff will work with the applicant to complete the police department’s investigative requirements and return the item to the July 1 council agenda for further action.
