Council adopts resolution recognizing South Plains Community Action Association

Andy Cates and Henry Tarrago represented SPCAA and spoke to the council about the organization’s work. Cates said the organization was "making trips to all of our partner communities, just trying to get the resolution, just recognized," and asked the council for continued support as the organization monitors federal funding and program budgets.
Council members praised SPCAA’s local work. One council member referenced SPCAA’s assistance with utilities and weatherization, saying the agency helps families make homes more resilient in heat and cold. Council Member Rascon moved to approve Resolution R25-667; Council Member Dickerson seconded the motion and the council adopted the resolution.
