Plainview City Council approves consent items, resolutions and appointments in unanimous actions

Finally, the council confirmed the appointment of Bobby Shaw as municipal court judge. Assistant City Manager Jeff Johnston presented the candidate’s background and the judge’s duties under the city’s Home Rule Charter; Mayor Pro Tem Weiss moved the confirmation, Council Member Dickerson seconded, and the council confirmed Shaw’s appointment.
Several items were handled in or followed by an executive session under Texas Government Code Sec. 551.087 for economic development; the council recessed to closed session and returned with no action required.
