The Carbondale Local Liquor Control Commission on July 22 approved a change in corporate officers for Hunan Incorporated, doing business as Hunan, at 710 East Main Street, making David Kwan the sole beneficial owner and listing him as both president and secretary.
City staff told the commission the license had been issued with Chan San as president, Jenny San as secretary and David Kwan as treasurer; Chan and Jenny San have relinquished their roles and interest in the corporation and the changes were filed with the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR). Staff said changes that alter corporate roles require the commission’s approval for the state to accept the report.
Commissioner Mitch Kilman moved to approve the officer change; Commissioner Maxwell seconded the motion. The commission took a roll-call vote: Commissioners Stanfield, Colombo, Kilman, Lowes, Maxwell, Roberts and Chairperson Harvey all voted yes, and the motion passed.
The commission’s approval was limited to the license reporting change described on the agenda; staff noted that without the local written approval the state would not accept the reported changes. The commission adjourned after the vote.
