Price City officials introduced two new members of the public-works staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission completed routine procedural business at a July 21 meeting.
Miles Nelson, Price City Public Works director, introduced John Boyd as project manager and Justin Wirth as deputy public-works director; both were welcomed by commissioners. Nelson summarized Boyd's responsibilities as project management, inspections, irrigation and fleet oversight and said Wirth will manage parks, streets and the service shop and assist with grants and organization of operations.
The commission also approved minutes from its April 21, 2025 meeting. Commissioner Black made the motion to approve the minutes and Commissioner Root seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
The commission recessed its Planning and Zoning meeting at 5:17 p.m., convened as the certified local government (CLG) committee at 5:18 p.m. to check on the Utah Historic Preservation tax-bridle application process, then recessed the CLG at 5:19 p.m. and immediately reconvened the Planning and Zoning Commission. Each procedural motion passed by voice vote.
The meeting concluded with a motion to close the planning and zoning meeting at about 5:20 p.m.; that motion also passed by voice vote.
What was said
Nelson said John Boyd "does about everything we ask him to do" and listed project tracking, cost tracking and inspections as part of Boyd's role. Nelson described Wirth's role as taking on parks, facilities and pools and helping to write grants.
