Washington County places library and public safety levies on November ballot; final survey round underway

County staff told the board on July 22 that two levies the board previously approved—one for libraries and one for public safety—have been filed with the elections division for the Nov. 4 ballot and assigned measure numbers.
Staff reported the library measure was assigned Measure 34-345 and the public-safety measure 34-346. The staff update said the final round of public-opinion research is currently in the field, with interviews continuing through Aug. 1; staff expects to present topline survey results at the board’s Aug. 5 work session.
Staff reminded the board that, depending on survey results, there would still be time to withdraw and resubmit a measure if the board so directed. No formal board action was taken at the July 22 work session; the report was informational and next steps were tied to the survey timeline.
