EMS board amends billing-collection arrangement and hears department updates on training and rules work

The Ada County Board of Commissioners, acting as the board of the Ada County Emergency Medical Services District, approved an agreement amendment to allow Bonneville to continue collecting previously owned claims and received department updates during the July 22 session.
Staff explained Bonneville was the prior collector and retains ownership of certain claims; the amendment allows continued collection of those accounts. The board approved the agreement (identified in the agenda as Agreement 159725 and referenced in action as agreement number 12590-7-25) by unanimous vote.
During the EMS update, staff described a department meeting held at Mission43 (a nonprofit supporting veterans and first responders) that included recognition of long-serving employees and a tour of a hyperbaric therapy training room funded by the Albertsons Foundation. EMS staff said hyperbaric therapy is being used in some programs for traumatic brain injury and PTSI treatment (as a training demonstration), and that the department is collaborating with State House staff to convert IDAPA EMS rules into code; staff expect to begin that process with state partners and to solicit broader input across the state. The board also discussed standby operations at BSU football games and confirmed recent river-rescue response involvement.
The EMS board approved the EMS claims journal and personnel actions, and approved minutes from the July 8 EMS meeting, all by unanimous voice votes.
