Cedar Park economic development office reports 270 leads, Plug and Play expo and new biotech tenant

On May 27, Cedar Park and Plug and Play co-hosted the Cedar Park Spring Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Expo Day at the Hot Spot. Arthur said the event drew about 230 attendees and included 12 speakers, eight demo tables and four start-up pitches; he said the Plug and Play spring 2025 cohort featured 15 startups in semiconductors, robotics, AI and advanced materials. He listed local corporate partners who engaged with the program, including Cirrus Logic, Samsung and Ingersoll.
Arthur announced a company relocation: Exo Discovery Technologies, a biotech firm that began in South Korea and later moved to Southern California, will locate an office on Whitestone in Cedar Park. Arthur said the firm's CEO had been reviewing locations and decided Cedar Park was a viable option, and that staff will leverage the firm's industry connections to court additional life-sciences companies.
Arthur also notified the board that Scott Redreen submitted his resignation from Place 1, leaving one board vacancy. He said the board should expect Council Member Friesa's appointment to fill that seat.
