Staff recommended the Board approve a two‑year contract with an option to renew for one additional two‑year term. The Board motion, moved by Drew Riddle and seconded by Maisie Jamieson, authorized the executive director to execute the contract.
Board members asked about the limited pool of bidders. Staff said single responses are not uncommon for niche services involving specialized clinical and monitoring operations; the Board noted prior experience with the incumbent provider and emphasized the need for vendor continuity in a program that offers monitoring, counseling and return‑to‑practice services.
The Board’s vote authorized staff to finalize terms and proceed with the award; staff will proceed to contract negotiations and implement transitional arrangements to ensure continuity of support for nurses using the program.
