Ballston Spa trustees authorize $2.51 million ladder truck, lighting and traffic purchases and declare equipment surplus

Ballston Spa trustees approved multiple capital purchases and announced surplus sales during a regular meeting that also included personnel and equipment housekeeping items.

The board authorized the village fire department to spend $2,510,000 to buy a 400-foot ladder truck and authorized the mayor to sign related paperwork. The motion approved language noting the purchase agreement “includes a potential price escalation clause based on potential future inflation,” and that the final purchase price could increase if the escalation clause is triggered.

Trustees also declared three vehicles surplus — a 1995 Spartan lumber truck, a 2013 Ford Explorer and a 2003 International DT530 dump truck — and authorized the mayor to execute documents to place the items for sale through Auctions International.
