West Sac Play donates to city parks, touts Sept. 13 Fundraiser and splash‑park projects

An unnamed spokesperson speaking as treasurer of West Sac Play reviewed the organization’s history: a group of parents formed a Bridgeway Lakes playground project more than a decade ago, raised $50,000 in private donations that the city matched, and later expanded into city‑wide volunteer work and fundraising. “Together with the support of our donors and the community and our very strong partnership with the city, we have raised well over a $100,000 that we have donated to your city park staff,” the West Sac Play treasurer said.
Board members Sarah (a founding board member) and Claire (vice president) described recent projects — shade structures at several parks, funding for hydration stations, and park festivals, movie nights and other community activities — and invited council members and residents to Farm to Park, the group’s major annual fundraiser scheduled for Sept. 13. Claire said tickets and event details are available via flyers left at the back of the room and that the event’s proceeds support city park projects.
Councilmembers praised West Sac Play’s volunteer work and encouraged residents to buy tickets and attend. No city action was required; the presentation was informational and the donation was accepted as part of the meeting.
