Commission releases long-standing conditions on 5662 North Mesa to allow medical office addition

The El Paso City Plan Commission on July 17 approved a request to release remaining conditions tied to Ordinance No. 4928 for the property at 5662 North Mesa Street, clearing the way for an addition to an existing medical office facility.
Salve Pina of Planning and Inspections presented the condition-release request. He said the 1.17-acre property is zoned C-1 and designated G (suburban) on the Plan El Paso future land-use map. Pina summarized earlier conditions imposed by Ordinance No. 4928 and said those conditions either have been satisfied or are no longer applicable, and that the release will not impact surrounding properties. He also emphasized the conceptual plan shown during the hearing was not reviewed for code compliance and is not binding.
Eloisa McGill of Focus on Architecture, the project's architect, said the project team agreed with planning staff comments. No public testimony was received. The commission voted by voice to approve the release of all conditions as per Ordinance No. 4928.
The release permits the property owner to proceed with the proposed addition subject to plan review and permitting; staff will continue to enforce applicable development code requirements during permitting.
