The Revere City Licensing Commission approved an all‑alcohol restaurant license on an amended application for Fifth Avenue Steakhouse Inc., d/b/a Floramos, at 492 Revere Beach Boulevard, and approved accompanying entertainment permissions including widescreen cable TV, radio, musical bingo, DJ and karaoke.
Attorney Tyler Hensler, representing the applicant, told the commission Floramos is seeking a Section 12 all‑alcohol restaurant license and related entertainment permissions for a location with ocean views. John Floramos, the owner and proposed manager of record, described his 40 years of restaurant experience and said he would act as manager at the Revere location. Hensler said the operation planned a seating capacity of roughly 150 and would offer a full beer, wine and cocktail program to pair with the menu.
During the hearing, Councilor Ira Novosalski and other speakers expressed enthusiasm for the restaurant’s arrival. Councilor Garrino Suayo (Ward 5) asked about requested Sunday hours; counsel for Floramos requested on‑the‑record amendments adding DJ and karaoke and extending the Sunday closing hour to 11 p.m. The commission approved the application “as amended” by motion; the final permitted hours are Sunday 11:30 a.m.–11 p.m., Monday–Wednesday 11 a.m.–11 p.m., Thursday–Saturday 11 a.m.–1 a.m. The approved entertainment permissions are widescreen cable TV, radio, musical bingo, DJ and karaoke.
Why it matters: The approval restores an all‑alcohol restaurant operation at a prominent Revere Beach Boulevard location and grants entertainment flexibility for live and interactive programming; the license could shape evening activity along the beachfront.
Conditions and logistics: The applicant agreed to remain TIP‑certified and to comply with local and state alcohol service rules. The applicant added DJ and karaoke on the record and accepted the extended Sunday hour; the commission approved the request by voice vote.
Ending: With the license granted, the applicant said it aimed to open before Labor Day, subject to final construction and inspections.
