The Winona Area Public Schools board accepted a series of donations and grant awards at its July meeting, including grant funds and in-kind gifts for athletics, performing arts, garden and other programs.
Superintendent Brzezinski read donors and amounts into the record. Highlights included pole‑vault equipment (grant funds of $3,299), multiple grant-fund expense entries from the Winona Public Schools Foundation totaling $27,892.61 and separate grant amounts of $950.87, $10,003.29 and $13,290.56, and a combined grant total cited in the meeting of $84,144.52. Other donations included $2,000 from Winona Oaks Lodge for a turkey dinner, $1,482 from WAVS division for track, and numerous smaller donations and in-kind gifts to schools and programs.
The board moved and seconded acceptance of the donations; the motion carried on a voice vote. A full list of donors and amounts was read into the public record during the meeting.
