Glenn Gregory, director of maintenance, told the board the library/courthouse lot is often at or near capacity, particularly during jury trials, and that lending out parking would likely create overflow into streets. Commissioners reiterated prior practice that the lot is reserved for public use and court/library activities and said the county has repeatedly denied similar requests.
Commissioner De Groot noted the library had offered interior space for outreach activities. The board indicated that interior accommodations would be an appropriate alternative and discussed having county maintenance or the chair notify the requester. No formal motion or vote was recorded; staff were asked to follow up with the requester and to send any decline as appropriate.
