Presiding Commissioner, Planning Commission presiding officer, told the commission the second public hearing item was a conditional-use application for Summit Creek to operate a sales office near its post office. "They've had it for a couple of years. Every year, they have to review the application they have," Presiding Commissioner said.
Commissioners noted the permit requires annual renewal so the city can monitor the office and accept public comment if problems arise. Commissioners said Summit Creek had been operating the sales office without a current renewal for part of the year; the applicant agreed to pay the full year's fee retroactive to January. The permit fee discussed in the meeting was cited as $150 per year.
The commission moved and voted to approve the renewal of the conditional-use permit and forwarded the recommendation as required under the current subdivision rules. Commissioners debated whether annual renewals were necessary but agreed the yearly check enables city oversight and a public comment opportunity.
No public commenters attended the hearing; city staff noted the application will proceed to any administrative steps required for finalization under current procedures.
