Comal County commissioners approve claims, a final plat, personnel and elections transfers in unanimous votes

Hill Country Meadows final plat: County staff described a proposed final plat for Hill Country Meadows, a subdivision of about 14 acres east of State Highway 281 with a 0.161-acre dedication of right-of-way along FM 306. Staff said the developer is widening FM 306 to a 150-foot width, meeting frontage requirements, and will be served by public water. The court approved final plat action agenda item number 2; the motion and second were recorded in the transcript and the judge said the motion carried.
Constable Precinct 3 personnel and transfers: The court approved action agenda item number 4, creating a temporary deputy constable position for Constable Precinct 3 for the period listed as July 19, 2025, to October 17, 2025, and approved a line-item transfer from hospitalization to hourly personnel, uniform allowance, FICA and unemployment to fund the position. Constable Ackerman was absent and sent apologies; staff explained the need to replace an employee with health issues. Commissioner Webb moved to approve items 4a and 4b; Commissioner Kronover seconded and the court carried the motion.
Elections equipment transfer: The court approved a line-item transfer in the elections budget to move funds from voting supplies to administrative costs and noncapital equipment to purchase one standard PC and two laptops to replace aging machines in the elections office. Staff said one PC had failed and two laptops were at least seven years old. Commissioner Webb moved to approve action agenda item number 5; Commissioner Leacock seconded. The court adopted the transfer by voice vote.
Other business: The court introduced a new human-resources coordinator, Michelle Mendoza, and recognized longtime county staff member Ramona Womack on her retirement. The court recessed to begin a budget workshop at 9:00 a.m.
