Board approves Title I–IV federal applications and allocations for 2025–26

The Patrick County School Board on June 17 approved federal Title I, II, III and IV applications for the 2025–26 school year and authorized staff to sign and submit the applications.
Miss Castle presented the applications and described each program’s purpose: Title I to support reading and math in elementary schools (currently funded at $789,290 before amended allocations and supporting 16 positions including teachers and assistants); Title II for class‑size reduction (about $106,134.78 before reallocation, funding two teachers in upper elementary grades); Title III through a regional consortium for English learners (about $4,178.41 before reallocation, used for digital platforms and language acquisition supports); and Title IV (total about $54,878.10), with a proposed transfer of roughly $36,000 into Title I to support salaries and remaining funds to support PBIS and counselors’ social‑emotional programming.
Miss Castle asked for approval for the superintendent and Miss Walker to sign the cover pages and submit the applications through the required portal; the board moved and approved the applications by voice vote.
Board members thanked staff for the explanations and noted the programs help keep class sizes smaller and support social‑emotional learning.
