Staff and commissioners described the storage installation as an approximately 80‑megawatt lithium battery system sited near Hunter. Commissioners proposed sending an email to the applicant or UAC to request explicit contract language showing whether storage was included in the original agreement and to remove or revise the CRA sentence if it improperly implied incentive eligibility.
The commission moved to seek additional information and authorized staff to approve the revised letter without further commission action if the contract documentation shows the storage was part of the existing agreement. The motion to seek information and allow conditional approval if storage is confirmed passed with recorded “aye” votes from Commissioners Warwood, Leonard and Jensen.
The commission did not adopt any change to the letter at the meeting and tabled final action pending receipt of contract language and verification about CRA incentives.
