County treasurer alerts public to Incline Village billing error; district director says underbilling means some parcels owe more

"The beach fee represents the rec fee. Rec fee represents the beach fee," Taylor said, explaining county billing relies on a correctly formatted electronic file from entities such as IVGID. Taylor estimated roughly 540 parcels were affected and warned the correction process could take "months and months," adding his office will work with IVGID and the county27s contractor to speed repairs.
IVGID director responds
IVGID Director of Administrative Services Susan Herron, who spoke remotely from Incline Village, thanked Treasurer Taylor for identifying the problem and said IVGID would correct the submission "by the end of the day today on our end." Herron told commissioners that the error resulted in underbilling for some parcels rather than overbilling: "With the reversal, the reversal is an underbilling to those who got the rec fee without beach access. So there will be a small amount of about $65 more on their bill. So there should be no refunds issued."
Taylor27s office said it will work with IVGID on corrected files and with Washoe 311 to respond to constituent questions. The treasurer also said his office will request IVGID cover any printing and postage costs associated with reissuing corrected tax bills but noted the county may front interim costs.
