The Georgetown City Council accepted street dedications for three completed subdivisions and approved several municipal orders and budgeted purchases on July 14.
Street dedications: City engineering staff recommended, and council approved, street dedications for: Village at Lane Run Phase 2 Unit 3C (Old Oxford Road area); The Abbey at Old Oxford Phase 3 Unit 1A‑1D; and South Crossing Phase 1 Units 1‑1F (near Kroger). Staff said each development met inspection and punch‑list requirements and that the city will assume maintenance responsibility following acceptance.
Purchases and grants: The council approved a budgeted purchase from Hexton Technologies for approximately $98,160 for six months of phosphorus removal chemical for Wastewater Plant No. 2 under the city’s annual chemical unit price contract.
Community project funding: The council accepted Community Project Funding (CPF) allocated through Congressman Barr’s office — approximately $1.6 million in federal funds plus a city match of $408,800 — to support the design phase for Lexus Way. Staff said grant agreements are in place and that the design phase will proceed.
Other routine items: Council approved an amendment to change the Code Enforcement Board meeting frequency (first reading introduced) and approved other routine municipal orders listed on the agenda.
Votes: All listed municipal orders and the purchases referenced above were approved by voice vote where recorded in the meeting minutes.
