Board approves budget hearing date, cardiac response plan, personnel changes, negotiated agreement and raises

The Lansing School Board took multiple formal actions during the meeting, mostly by recorded motion:

- The board set the public hearing date for the R&R and the budget hearing for 6 p.m. on Sept. 8 (the September board meeting date). A board member moved and the motion passed.

- The board approved the district cardiac emergency response plan required by the recent state law, with one wording change requested by a board member clarifying the language on commotio cordis and cardiac arrest. A motion to amend the plan's language passed and the plan was approved.

- The board approved multiple personnel items in omnibus motions: a list of new hires and approved job transfers were moved, seconded and approved. - The board ratified a negotiated agreement (motion to ratify the negotiated agreement passed by voice/vote) and also voted to approve classified staff changes as presented.

- The board approved a pay increase: a motion to present a 3% raise for classified and administrative staff passed.
