Council seeks input on Bluff Community Center, senior‑center lease as architects finish infrastructure plans

Separately, staff and council discussed the town’s lease with San Juan County for the senior center space. Town staff said the lease currently runs five years with an option to renew for another five years and that the existing agreement expires Aug. 31, 2025. During the discussion staff and council members cited different rent figures in spoken remarks — one comment referenced $450 per month while another said “$4.50 a month” — and staff later said total payments including utilities were about $5,400 per year. Council directed staff to contact county administration (Tammy Gallegos and Mac, as referenced) to clarify lease terms and to ask whether the county and town want language that acknowledges possible future reallocation of services should the CCC become the primary facility.
There was no formal council vote. Staff will present a council briefing on the architects’ drawings at the next meeting, circulate a short public presentation and, if the council approves the content, host a public open house and survey to collect community feedback.
